Adoption means that a child moves permanently from one family to another. The adoptive parents assume parental rights over the child and are responsible for the emotional, legal and social care of the child. Once a child is adopted, the adoptive parents have the same legal rights they would possess if the child was born to them biologically.

There are three types of adoptions to choose from, and together we can find what is the best fit for you and your family:
-
International adoption: International adoptions are divided into two categories. You may be able to adopt a child from a country that is partaken in the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Inter-country Adoption. Or you may also be adopting a child from a non-convention country. In which case, the child must be classified as an orphan. The cost to adopt an infant or a child from another country varies greatly. It could cost between $15,000 and $50,000 depending on the country.
-
Domestic adoption: A domestic adoption can be done through a licensed adoption agency or through an attorney, depending on state laws. Most people adopt kids in the infantry stage, rather than older kids. The average cost to adopt through the domestic adoption route is $40,000.
-
Foster adoption: There are two routes to adoption through foster care; a direct foster care adoption or fostering to adopt. There’s no guarantee of adoption when choosing the second route. Foster kids tend to be older and the average age for adoption is 7 years old. Adopting through the Foster system can be as low as a few hundred dollars.
Bringing a baby or child into your life can be an exciting, and sometimes overwhelming time. It starts with getting prepared, financially and emotionally. Let us be part of your journey.
