We keep hearing about the importance of mind & body connection and how it will help us get pregnant naturally within months and will make us feel more happy, lighter and present in our life-journey.
Have you ever wondered why is it helpful and more specifically how it is helpful? How connecting the mind & body mends inner organs, including the reproductive system? How can strengthening the connection with ourselves can adjust neurotransmitters and hormones and reduce stress or anxiety? And how can it increase our chances of a natural pregnancy?
Our brain is the most complex, sophisticated and mysterious organ we have in our body. Even with all the access to advanced technology today, there is not enough scientific data to fully understand the way it works.
What we do know is that our brain can constantly sense the environment, assess the quality of the food we eat, measure our stress-level and based on that kind of information, decide, through a mechanism we call epigenetic, which bodily system needs to be activated or deactivated.
Low quality of food, not enough sleep, too much stress, not feeling safe etc. will activate a cascade of genes that are important to survival mode. This cascade will activate mechanisms, such as the fight-or-flight response, increased absorption of food, elevation of blood pressure and deactivation of the reproductive system, since under those conditions it is NOT possible to create a healthy, happy baby.
Understanding how our body works can help us understand how to reprogram the mind and send the right kind of message to the body: “today is a great day to have a baby. I'm ready, the house is ready, and the heart is ready”.
So how do I do that reprogramming?
Connect the mind & body and change the message. With easy to do relaxation techniques, the mind and body can learn that all is well and you are safe. With good nutrition the mind and body can learn that you have enough food to feed yourself and a baby, and with good night sleep and reduced level of anxiety, the mind and body can learn that it is actually a great time to bring a baby to the world.
Remember that when you take the time to connect your mind & body, you allow the inner organs of your body, including the reproductive system, to be checked for any misalignment, reduce any unnecessary inflammation and get nourished, so they can function properly.
There are many ways to connect the mind & body. Here are some of Eve Fertility’s favorites: Meditation, Acupuncture, talk therapy with a fertility-coach, fertility-yoga, reading a book, journaling and praying.
